Last weekend we held our first Serve Weekend of 2022, and it was an unforgettable couple of days! With 14 projects and 300 volunteers spread throughout the community, making an impact and changing lives, we are still blown away by the willingness of the Creek Family to be Set in Motion! Let's take a second and celebrate a few of the projects we got to be involved in!
We partner with Carter BloodCare multiple times a year to host drives to provide desperately needed blood in our community! It is always so cool to see people sacrificing their time and comfort to help save a life and provide a hugely needed service! If this is something you feel passionate about or would like to do, we have another blood drive on June 25th and would love to have you sign up!
Love and Light is a WONDERFUL ministry that is tirelessly serving the homeless in our community. Through pre-ordered and packaged kits that are tailored to specific needs, free bibles, and food and clothing, they are working so hard to fill basic needs of the homeless community. Our team was thrilled to partner with them and help to sort and categorize the items they have at the warehouse! The team worked so hard and accomplished their goals!
One of the things we love most about serving our community is when we’re able to partner with other churches who have the same heart and same mission. One of the organizations that we partnered with, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, works to provide youth with bunk-beds. We were able to work with one of the local churches in our area to deliver the beds that they built on their own serve day! This need is often overlooked, but it's so important for children to have a safe place to sleep each night!
The Servolution House is a wonderful project, and a true example of people putting in physical effort and a lot of hard work to selflessly serve their neighbors! Through house cleanup, yard work, landscaping, and cleaning, this hard work is such a blessing!
The last project I want to highlight is so true to the heart of The Creek and our mission to see the gospel of Jesus affect lives and people! We were able to help a church in Boyd re-launch by helping with their service on Sunday morning. Our volunteers were able to help with greeting, ushering, Sunday school, and all the other needs that go into a service!
We LOVE Serve Weekend, and we adore seeing our church body Set in Motion! Our next Serve Weekend is in October, but you don't have to wait until then to get plugged in and serving at The Creek. We encourage you to find a way for you and your family to be Set in Motion!
