Even in The Small Moments

The sunlight peaked through the fluff on Odin’s ears. I could see his whiskers glisten in the rays while the fog from his warm breath billowed from his determined face. He sniffed deeply before catching the scent of the squirrel on the fence.
Everything about the moment seemed so intricate. All of his inner workings synchronized in perfect harmony.
Designs that allow him to huff at the scurrying intruders in our backyard, or maintain his body temperature in the cool, or fill his lungs with oxygen filtered through the trees he was standing by.
As I watched his big paws trot across the dry crunching leaves scattered on the ground I was reminded that “All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.” John 1:3 ESV.
I was reminded that even in small, seemingly insignificant moments, God has ordered our steps, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 NLT. I was reminded that everything has a purpose. That I have purpose. That God created me intentionally.
“Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in your book and planned before a single one of them began.” Psalms 139:16 CSB.
“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11 ESV.
God is awe inspiring.
