Meet Pastor Matt
I was born in West Virginia and raised by parents who love God. We moved to Texas in 1989 (yes, I wish I could have gotten here faster) and it's here in DFW that God's love became real to me and I accepted Jesus as Savior. I married the love of my life, Heather, and started working in the corporate world. In 2002, while volunteering at The Met Church in Keller, I felt God calling me to full-time ministry. At that time, I left the corporate world to pursue a seminary degree.
In 2009, Heather and I knew God was
calling us to a new work. With the support of our sending church, and a
core team of 30 people, we launched Marine Creek Community Church (now
called The Creek) in March of 2010. It has been a crazy ride since
then, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
Heather
and I are blessed with two godly and lovely girls, and two wonderful
sons-in-law. We have also welcomed three beautiful grandchildren into our family!
I love people and love seeing the work of the Kingdom done! Welcome to The Creek and I hope to meet you soon!
What should you know about me?
The most important thing that you should know about me is that I have a deep love for people and a true desire to connect them with God. That is my greatest motivation for what I do everyday.
I love to laugh and I have a huge amount
of random movie quotes stuck in my head that may or may not come out in
my teaching. Bottom line? I want to make God's Word come alive to
people in my church family. I want His truth to be accessible to all. I want people to feel loved every time they walk in the doors at The
Creek. I want lives to be changed by the message of Jesus.
