Serve Weekend Recap

Last weekend was one of the best weekends of the year, Serve Weekend! Instead of gathering for our normal on-campus services, we send our church family out into the community to serve at dozens of organizations across the metroplex. We do EVERYTHING! From making jump ropes for kiddos in India and Africa, to building bunk beds for children in need, to serving our homeless population downtown, or even cleaning up our local parks, we have something for everyone. We also got to close out the weekend with Boo Bashes! Our Creek families and life groups shared the love of Jesus with THOUSANDS of trick-or-treaters, and blessed them with candy and an invite to church!
This year was incredible, with the largest number of people serving that we've ever seen. With almost 500 people out in the community (on very cold and rainy days might I add), there was no mistake that God was moving in a mighty way. I'd love to share some stats with you so we can celebrate how good God is, and reflect on an amazing weekend!
- 500 people serving.
- 18 projects over 3 days.
- 22 Boo Bashes.
- 30 units of blood donated (our biggest drive ever).
- 29 bunk beds built.
- 1,000 toiletry bags made.
- 100 jump ropes made.
- 29 people serving in Azle (the home of our next campus).
And, a statistic we will not know on this side of eternity, but thousands and thousands of lives being impacted by YOUR willingness to break out of the normal, and be the hands and feet of Jesus in the community. THANK YOU!
If you're sad that you missed it (how could you not, did you see those stats?), never fear! Our next Serve Weekend will be in the spring, and you won't want to miss it.
