Time of Worship: Firm Foundation

Last weekend we sang a new song together as a church family, Firm Foundation. The central message of the song focuses on the idea that when we put our trust in Jesus, build our life on Him, and submit to Him as our foundation, we cannot be swayed. That's not to say that storms don't come and troubling times don't exist, but we can stand firm through them because of Christ. The lyrics are a reminder of Matthew 7, where we're encouraged with this idea of building our house on the rock:

Matthew 7:24-27: “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

When we take the word of God, and we truly live by it and implement it into every area of our lives, we cannot be moved by the schemes of the enemy.

Let's slow down together and take some time to worship, making this the cry of our hearts:
